Team Mono

Matt Clare

Matt completed his graphic design degree at Swinburne in 1992. After working for three years in the advertising industry he used his talent as creative director, graphic designer and illustrator to form Mono Design in 1996. He has a down-to-earth, approachable manner that makes it easy to ask for what you want, combined a genuine passion (and exacting standards) for all of the work he produces. He was a finalist in the 2006 AGDA awards for his design work with Moreland City Council and has been nominated for design awards within the publishing industry. Matt’s work has been published and exhibited throughout Australia.

loves… The Simpsons, 60’s garage punk, beer, pies, his daughter Scarlett, his dog Poppy, (better mention his wife too)

Ruth Clare

Ruth completed her degree in science and journalism at QUT in 1994. After graduation, she made a drastic turnaround and began working as an actor on shows like Neighbours and Blue Heelers as well as starring in lots of commercials. At the same time she put her written and verbal communication skills to use in marketing, communications, administration and project management roles. After studying copywriting, she finally found a unique use for her love of strategy, research and creative writing. Ruth became a partner in Mono Design in 2004 and works part-time while devoting herself to the raising of Mono’s offspring.

loves… Her daughter Scarlett, her dog Poppy, Dusty Springfield, gardening, french champagne – preferable all at the same time (oh yeah, Matt as well)

Poppy

Although not officially a human, Poppy is an essential part of team Mono. She is a beagle cross kelpie with a triple degree in digging, eating and sniffing. She greatly enjoys her role as Mono Design’s team mascot. Poppy works tirelessly to ensure we operate at maximum fun capacity and loves it when clients come to visit.

loves… lying in the sun, chasing the ball, sitting under Scarlett’s highchair, barking at couriers, souvlaki chicken

Scarlett Genevieve Clare

As the youngest member of Mono Design, Scarlett has quickly risen through the ranks of chief distractor and noise maker to become firmly established in her role as centre of the universe. She shows a natural flair for communication and is happy to entertain all and sundry with her wide repertoire of nursery rhymes (though much wild applause is required).

loves… roary the racing car, singing, reading, eating, the colour purple, anything involving water
