Our Black Summer

The 2019–20 fire season, which became known nationally as ‘Black Summer’, was long and arduous for communities across the eastern seaboard of the Australia, especially in north eastern and eastern Victoria. It delivered some of the toughest firefighting conditions ever seen. By its conclusion, more than 2280 CFA volunteers and staff had been deployed interstate, while more than 8200 had contributed to the response at home in Victoria.

Our Black Summer is a testament to these efforts, featuring first hand accounts and imagery from brigades and community members from across the state.
